The Oyo State Anti-Corruption Agency (OYACA) has secured the conviction of a civil servant, Olanrewaju Oyegoke, accused of selling government land.
The OYACA Secretary, Mr Ibrahim Tijani made this known in a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Ibadan.
Tijani said that the convict was an Assistant Chief Executive Officer in the Estate Department of Lagelu Local Govteenment Area of the state.
He said that the convict sold the land belonging to Oyo State Housing Corporation in 2021 and was charged to court on a three-count charge of official corruption under the OYACA Law 2019.
The secretary said that the court presided over by Magistrate O. Akande found the convict guilty in all the three counts and sentenced him to three months imprisonment in each of the count.
“OYACA warm civil servants to desit from all acts of corruption, it will only plunges the state into under-development and disparages the good image and enviable status of the state,” the secretary said.
