The Federal Character Commissioner from Oyo State, Professor Adeniyi Olowofela, has expressed deep sadness over the passing of Isaac Omodewu, the Oyo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Omodewu, who previously served as a commissioner for Land, Housing and Survey under the administration of the late Senator Abiola Ajimobi, died in the early hours of Monday while in the United States of America.
Olowofela, who also served as the Ido Local Government Chairman and Commissioner for Education in Oyo State during Ajimobi’s tenure, described Omodewu as a friend and colleague. “We both had the privilege of serving under the administration of the late Senator Abiola Ajimobi,” Olowofela said.
Olowofela praised Omodewu’s contributions to the development of Oyo State, particularly in the areas of land, housing, and survey. “Omodewu was a dedicated public servant who worked tirelessly to improve the lives of the people of Oyo State,” he said.
Omodewu, who hailed from Itesiwaju Local Government Area in the Oke Ogun geopolitical zone, was also lauded by Olowofela for his leadership as the Oyo State APC Chairman. “As the APC Chairman, Omodewu played a crucial role in strengthening the party’s presence in the state and ensuring its success in the last 2023 presidential elections,” Olowofela said.
In his condolence message, Olowofela expressed his heartfelt sympathies to Omodewu’s family, the APC in Oyo State, APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. “Omodewu’s passing is a great loss to the people of Oyo State and the APC family,” he said.
The Federal Character Commissioner added that Omodewu’s legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire others who seek to serve their community and the nation with the same dedication and passion.
