The Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB), Dr. Nureni Adeniran, has assured Nigerians of a merit-based recruitment process for public primary school teachers in the state.
Speaking on a popular radio program in Ibadan on Sunday, Adeniran disclosed that the state government had opened the recruitment portal subeb.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng on June 25, 2024, for interested applicants.
“The applicants will go through all the stages in the recruitment exercise. From the application stage, through all the screening stages. Those who cross the hurdle of application, will receive messages inviting them to the next stage of the exercise which is the Computer-Based Tests,” Adeniran said in his native language.
The OYOSUBEB chairman added that the recruitment process will be guided by the principles of equity and fairness, as per the specific instructions from the state’s Governor.
“The Board has also promised to ensure that the exercise is merit-based throughout the stages of the recruitment, as this is the specific instruction from our principal, the Governor,” he said.
Adeniran further stated that the recruitment exercise is part of the state government’s efforts to strengthen the teaching workforce and improve the quality of education in Oyo’s public primary schools.
He urged applicants to frequently check the recruitment portal to monitor the status of their applications and the schedule for the computer-based tests.
The OYOSUBEB chairman also promised that the board will continue its efforts to address the challenge of thuggery in some basic schools, but called for the support of parents and the general public.
Applicants are reminded that the job portal will be closed on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, and any inquiries can be forwarded to [email protected] or [email protected].
