The Oyo State government has taken a major step towards ensuring that all residents of the state have access to clean and safe water. The government plans to extend its reach to all geo-political zones in the state, according to the Executive Chairman of Oyo State Water Corporation, Hon. Elias Adeojo.

During a visit to the ongoing rehabilitation work in the Ogbomoso Water Supply Scheme, Hon. Adeojo expressed his commitment to reviving all the water schemes in the state. This initiative aims to cater to the growing population and fulfill the agenda of Governor Seyi Makinde’s second term.

During the visit, Hon. Adeojo stressed the urgent need to replace the worn-out and damaged pipes that supply water to Ogbomoso town. Many of these pipes have become obsolete due to urbanization. To address this issue, the Chairman held a meeting with the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghamdi Afolabi Olaoye, to discuss the rehabilitation plan.

Hon. Adeojo expressed his gratitude for the support from Oba Ghamdi Afolabi Olaoye and called on other monarchs, individuals, and corporate organizations in the state to contribute to the government’s development initiatives.

Meanwhile, a team of Engineers from the Oyo State Water Corporation has already begun repair work in the Ogbomoso Water Supply Scheme. They are replacing the existing AC pipes with more efficient and durable ductile pipes. The rehabilitation work is expected to be completed in a record time, ensuring that the people of Ogbomoso have access to clean and safe water.

The Oyo State government’s efforts in rehabilitating water schemes across all zones demonstrate their commitment to providing essential services and improving the well-being of residents.
