Mrs. Olubunmi Oni mni, the 29th Oyo State Head of Service, is a quintessential administrator in the pacesetter State. With her cutting-edge expertise, she has traversed the length and breadth of the Civil Service, leaving an unblemished track record in the State.
No wonder Permanent Secretaries, Executive Secretaries, General Managers, and the newly minted Tutor-Generals and Solicitor Generals have all keyed into the agenda and administrative prowess of the Olubunmi Oni-led Head of Service in Oyo State.
She was sworn-in as the Head of Service on May 9th, 2023, by the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, at the Executive Council Chamber Secretariat in Ibadan.
When she assumed duty, Mrs. Oni facilitated training programs for senior management staff and junior staff, both locally and in the diaspora. In terms of development, like Seyi Makinde, Olubunmi Oni is developing the State Civil Service from dossier to digital and corporate Civil/Public Service.
Olubunmi Oni, the Head of Service, has encouraged Civil Servants across the State to develop themselves by making use of the Library at the Office of the Head of Service to further sharpen their knowledge in the service.
Mrs. Mofoluke Adebiyi, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, said Mrs. Olubunmi Oni’s One Year in Office as the Head of Service has been impactful. She has tactically touched Ministries, Departments, and Agencies with lots of restructuring, making it clearer and more strategic what the activities of each agency should be. Under her watch, Oyo State is moving from the archaic style of doing things to a corporate Civil Service.
Dr. Muhideen Olatunji, the Executive Secretary of the Oyo State Primary Health Care Board, described the Head of Service as a woman of virtue with a path to destiny. He said that there is peace in the public sector, and Mrs. Oni has been able to bring togetherness among the key officers in the civil service.
The Chairman Forum of Administrative Officers, Oyo State, Mr. Kayode Muyiwa, said the current Head of Service has moved the administrative cadre forward with her open-door policy.
Interestingly, the current Head of Service has facilitated training and re-training for all staff, regular promotion exercises, staff welfare, and supervision of day-to-day activities of all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies of the Government.
