●Says party’ll win in all LGs

Oyo State governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has urged the people of the state to vote massively for all the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming local government election scheduled to hold across the state on 27th April, 2024.

Makinde expressed confidence that the party would win in all the 33 local governments and 351 Wards in the state, because the PDP has shown residents of the state that it is the best option when it comes to governance and people-oriented leadership.
The governor stated this in Ido Local Government, where he attended the PDP Local Government Campaign and Presentation of Flags to the Party’s Candidates in next week Saturday’s election.

He admonished PDP faithful to remain strong and united for the victory expected, even as he assured party members who are yet to be compensated that they will be duly compensated.

The governor urged them to continue to work for the progress of the party.
Presenting the Chairmanship Candidate for Ido Local Government, Mr Sheriff Adeojo and his running mate, Barrister Olayemi Oluwasina, Governor Makinde told the jubilant crowd of PDP faithful, “Tell those contesting for the same seats to go and wait for another three years. By the grace of God, I will still be the governor then.

“And let me also assure you that it is this administration that will conduct the next local government election. So, they should wait for six more years.
“Please, any party loyalist that is yet to get something from this government should be calm. It will soon be your turn.

“For those of us who have issues with ourselves, please let us put that behind us and focus on what is ahead of us and that is to win the April 27 Local Government Election massively across all the 33 Councils.”

Explaining why the PDP remained the best option in Ido and across the state, the governor explained that his administration, which some people used to taunt as executing audio projects, has delivered massive infrastructure, educational and health projects to silence its critics.

He mentioned some of the projects in Ido LG as including the constructions of Omo Adio-Ido Road, Apete-Awotan-Akufo Road and the ongoing Ido-Eruwa Road.

The governor added that the construction of Ido-Ologuneru Road and the relocation and modernisation of Omi Adio Market will be done in the coming months.

“Before now, they said this  administration was running audio projects but are they not seeing the video of what we are doing now? We have constructed Omi-Adio to Ifo Road. We did Ido-Eruwa and we will do that of Ido-Ologuneru. We have done Apete-Awotan-Akufo.

“Now, let me reveal something to you. The market in Omi-Adio will be demolished and rebuilt with state-of-the-art facilities. And it would be done under the Chairmanship of Sherrif Adeojo.

“So, don’t be afraid to come and vote for our PDP candidates on the 27th and return them to their offices,” the governor added.

In their separate remarks, the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dayo Ogungbenro, who spoke through the deputy chairman, Mr James Olukunle and the party chairman,  Ido Local Government, Mr Akinsola Ayuba, commended the unprecedented achievements of Governor Makinde in the state, especially in Ido Local Government Area.

They expressed the readiness of the party members in Ido and the state in general to ensure that the PDP comes out victorious in the local government election.

The event had in attendance the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Segun Olayiwola; Chairman Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Kamorudeen Aderibigbe and PDP state executives, among other political stalwarts.
