Oyo NUJ Chairman Demola Babalola ‘Dembab’ Mourns Loss of Mother

The chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Oyo State, Mr. Demola Babalola, known affectionately as Dembab, has announced the passing of his mother, Mama Wulemot Aweni Babalola.

Babalola shared the news early Sunday morning via his official Facebook page, expressing profound sorrow over the loss. He wrote:

“In Memoriam: We announce with deep sorrow the passing of our mother, Mama Wulemot Aweni Babalola.

A matriarch of the Muraina Oladiti Babalola family, Mama Babalola passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the age of 76.

Funeral Details:
– Date: Today, Sunday, November 3, 2024 
– Time: 4:00 PM 
– Location: Family House, Olorunsogo-Akanran Road, Palupo Community, Asegun Group of Schools, Asolo Bus Stop, Ibadan.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mama was a devout Muslim and the respected Otun Iya Adeen of the Palupo Muslim Community in Ona Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State.

“May Allah grant Mama Wulemot Aweni Babalola a peaceful rest and admit her into Jannah. May her legacy live on through all of us in the family”, Babalola wrote.
