In a show of solidarity and support, the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State council recently visited the family of former Chairman, Comrade Gbenga Solomon Ayoade, to offer condolences on the passing of his wife. The NUJ Chairman, Comrade Ademola Babalola, along with members of his executive and leaders in the council, expressed shock and devastation over the unexpected loss.

Describing the deceased as an exemplary woman, Babalola highlighted her unwavering dedication to serving God throughout her life. He expressed the union’s deep pain upon hearing the news of Mama’s demise. He also offered prayers for comfort and strength for the grieving family, hoping they would find solace amidst their irreparable loss.

Comrade Ayoade, while receiving the visit from the NUJ Chairman and members, spoke highly of his late wife, describing her as the best woman he had ever known. He credited her for the many achievements he had garnered, acknowledging that she stood by him in every circumstance. Ayoade fondly remembered his wife as a devoted Christian and a committed head usher who faithfully paid her tithe.

Expressing his gratitude, Comrade Ayoade thanked the NUJ leadership for their visit and specifically acknowledged Chairman Ademola Babalola for his continuous support throughout this difficult period.

This condolence visit by the NUJ leadership demonstrates the importance of unity and support within the journalism community. It acts as a reminder that even in times of personal loss, journalists can find solace in their professional family.
