The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Bala, a well-known Suya vendor at the NUJ Press Center, who died on Saturday following a brief illness at his Sabo residence.
Leading a delegation to visit Bala’s family, NUJ Chairman Alhaji Ademola Babalola described him as a hardworking and kind-hearted individual who had served as the first and longest-standing tenant of the Millennium Press Center for nearly 40 years.
In his condolence message, Babalola extended heartfelt sympathies to Bala’s family, praying for strength and comfort for those mourning his loss.
The family head and Bala’s eldest brother expressed gratitude to the NUJ team for their support and care during this difficult time. He also announced that the three-day Fidau prayers in Bala’s honor would be held on Monday, December 30, at 8:00 AM.
Chairman Babalola assured the family that the Oyo NUJ would be fully represented at the prayer event to pay their respects to the late vendor.
