The Oyo State Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Akin Williams Funmilayo has urged the newly recruited officers of the Office of the Surveyor General to be hard working and be dedicated to their duties.
He stated this during the induction/orientation programme for the newly recruited surveyors for the office of the Surveyor General of the State.
He said the present administration in the State under the leadership of Engineer Seyi Makinde believes so much in the welfare of the masses that was why he approved the recruitment of young graduates into the Civil Service.
Hon. Akin Funmilayo described Governor Seyi Makinde as a Governor with the Midas touch, turning around the fortune of the State for the benefit of the masses.
The commissioner then appreciated the State Surveyor General and other management staff for organizing an orientation programme for the newly recruited surveyors to the Office of the Surveyor General .
In his remarks, the Surveyor-General of the State, Surveyor Olusoji Adeyemi Adeoye pointed out that officers were recruited last to the Office of the Surveyor General since 2003, urging the newly recruited officers to prove themselves and add value to the system that gives them opportunity to practice what they studied in school.
The Surveyor-General and the entire Management staff further appreciated the State Government for recruiting 15 Staff in the year 2023 and 12 Staff in the year 2024 consecutively for the Agency.
Surveyor Adeoye enjoined officers to follow the rules and regulations of the Civil Service and adhere strictly to the General Order of the Service.
He said “see your appointment as a call to service, God that chooses you to be here, choose you for a purpose, do your work diligently with integrity, honesty and the fear of God”.
He also admonished them to be teachable, ready to learn and follow the right examples at their various workplaces.
