Pandemonium broke out at Irefin, Oke-Adu communities in Ibadan on Sunday and Monday as people accused Amotekun operatives of shooting at least four persons during mayhem at birthday party in the area.
According to reports by the locals, three out of four hit by stray bullet are now late, in which one of them is just a child.
Someone familiar with the incident told GISTSMATE MEDIA that the incident started on Sunday evening.
He said;
“One of Oke-Adu boys was having a birthday party, though there was a fight, it was during the fight that someone hinted Amotekun operatives that thugs has started again. On getting there, the situation was already tensed. In attempt to calm the scene, there was gunshots.
“I can’t say if the boys retaliate the gunshots, but bullets hit at least 4 people. One died on Sunday night, and it was reported to popular media outlet in Ibadan. Another two reportedly died on Monday morning, which included a young boy.
“On Monday night, some suspected hoodlums attacked house of Amotekun boss of this area”, the source said .
Security operatives including operation burst and police were deployed to restore peace to the area.
As at the time of filling this report on Tuesday morning, GISTSMATE MEDIA confirmed that the presence of police and Amotekun operatives are still in the area to maintain peace.
Calmness has been restored to the area.
