The community in Port Harcourt, Nigeria is in a state of shock and concern after a local businesswoman, Ada Bolingo, posted a distressing message on her Facebook account, hinting at taking her own life.

In the post dated Monday, Ada revealed that she had been struggling with mental health challenges for a long time and felt beyond help. “I’m taking the cowardice way out and it’s not anybody’s fault. I’ve never been ashamed to admit that I’ve been fighting with my mental health for so long,” she wrote.

The post has sparked panic and worry among Ada’s friends and followers, who are now reaching out to offer support and urging her to reconsider her decision. Some have expressed skepticism, suggesting she may be seeking attention or money, but Ada firmly refuted these claims.

“Now, to the Glory of God, I’ve not had need for money, so I wonder what it is. Maybe it’s the attention right? Then why haven’t I done anything with it? If you know me, like really know me, you’d know I’d do anything to stay hidden even though my expressive nature seems like the opposite,” she stated.

Ada’s alarming message has left the community deeply concerned for her wellbeing. Many are rallying together to provide any assistance they can, and urging her to reach out for professional help during this difficult time.

“I’m neither seeking money or attention and I’m now officially beyond help cos nobody can help me. I rather push people away instead,” Ada wrote, adding that she has “sinned against God” and is “so sorry.”

The local authorities and mental health support services have been notified of the situation, and they are working to intervene and ensure Ada’s safety. The community remains hopeful that she will reconsider her decision and seek the necessary help and support to overcome the challenges she is facing.
