Peat Philips Foundation, organizers of the International Spelling Bee Nigeria and The Young Orators has appointed a journalist and member of South West Guild of Online Publishers (SWEGOP), Ayanda Ayotunde and a top politician, Princess Gbonjubola Adebayo into the Governing Board.
Princess Adebayo was appointed the new head while Ayanda became an executive member of the board.
The announcement was made at the Ideal Nest Hotel, Osogbo, where the Foundation’s Country Head, Akinleye Olu-Philips briefed the media and explained the laws guiding the appointments.
Akinleye, a media and communications expert hinted that Princess Adebayo’s appointment was a mark of honour by the organisation for her contributions in promoting education across Africa and her many policies targeted at helping the children and youth with a wider focus on mentorship and development.
He also mentioned Ayanda as a seasoned journalist whose years of experience in the media industry will further promote the Peat Philips Foundation.
Adebayo, a Developmental Support Worker and businesswoman, is a prominent member of the royal family of Matanmi. She grew up in the palace of the late Oba Oyewale Matanmi, the 111th Ataoja of Osogbo.
She studied International Relations at the Edo State University, Ekpoma, Nigeria, and also Developmental Service at CLI College Of Business Health and Technology in Canada.
A seasoned politician, she once contested for the Osun State House of Assembly.
In her acceptance speech, Princess Adebayo expressed her delight to work with the international organisation and claimed her appointment is a call on her to do more as she promised to use her new position to further convert her love for children to promote education and uphold its values.
