The Yobe State Police Command has arrested a lecturer, Adamu Gambo Hudu, for allegedly raping a female student in Potiskum town.
Gambo Hudu, who works at the State General Hospital, Potiskum, and Al-Ma’arif, a private college of health sciences in Potiskum where the victim is studying, was apprehended last Wednesday by police operatives.
According to DSP Abdulkarim Dungus, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Yobe State Command, Hudu is currently in custody, and further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
Usman Alhaji Saleh, the Registrar of Al-Ma’arif College of Health Sciences and Technology, also confirmed the lecturer’s arrest to the media but declined to provide additional comments on the situation.
