The gruesome killing of a teenager named Chimuanya Sixtus Arudiegwu, 15 years of age, whose corpse was discovered with missing vital organs and body parts has put the inhabitants of the Iheoma hamlet in Orlu Local Government Area LGA of Imo state in abject sorrow and fear of the unknown after being missing for days, DAILY POST reports.
Following the information obtained by local news reporters, the deceased teenager was reportedly murdered in cold blood, after which his dead body was hidden in a septic tank otherwise known as soak-away pit by a jailbreaker from the Imo state prison, simply identified as Emeka Egbuaba.
Credible findings by local newsmen unveiled that, the deceased was actually no where to be found as at Monday, 8th May 2023 at exactly 7p.m, which makes it more than a week ago till date, unknowing to his family members that his life had been taken by the suspected criminal who harvested his vital organs including his heart, kidney, and private parts before nemesis caught up with him.
Reacting to the tragedy, Mrs Ifeoma Arudiegwu, the deceased’s mother,who is a widow from the Ihitte Owerri village in Orlu Local Government Area LGA, appealed to the security authorities and state government to come to her aid and track down the person responsible for the horrible act against her late son.
Also, one Chigozie Okonkwo, a community leader, commented on the unfortunate turn of events saying that, the deceased was effortlessly searched to no avail for more than four days before a close relative of the suspect named Chibuike, disclosed to the deceased’s guardian that his mother’s brother (the suspect) warned him not to ever go anywhere close to the soak-away pit in their compound for no apparent reason.
Unfortunately, as the story progressed, the community leader divulged that when Chibuike questioned the suspected murderer about why he instructed him not to go near the soak-away pit, the suspect replied that he killed a goat and buried part of its leftovers at the backyard of their house.
The community leader continued saying that, while doubting what the suspect told him, Chibuike notified the guardian of the deceased on what he was told, who then assembled some youths Iheoma community to the location where the late teenager’s remains were found but incomplete as his private parts, heart, and kidney were missing.
In the meantime, Okonkwo assured that right after the secret was leaked, the suspect was handed over to the security operatives of the Ajangbadi Police Station, who then turned him over to the anti-kidnapping team in the Imo police command.
The community leader concluded saying that they are not safe if he’s released from police custody saying the entire community, their traditional ruler is worried and that is why members of the community stormed the Owerri police command to seek justice for the deceased.
