The police, led by FCID spokesperson ASP Aminat Mayegun, have announced their intention to investigate the death of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Gbolahan Olugbemi, who was found deceased in his residence in Ogbomosho, Oyo State. Olugbemi, an officer from the Lagos Police Command, had gone to celebrate the Easter holidays. The senior police officer, renowned for his involvement during the #EndSARS protest, passed away under mysterious circumstances.

According to a police source at FCID, several individuals will be summoned for questioning regarding the incident. This is in light of the belief that the deceased could not have died by suicide, as is being rumored. The source stated, “This investigation aims to determine the deceased’s whereabouts prior to his passing, who was present when he entered his room, and who had possession of his two mobile phones at the time of his death.”

Insider information from Ogbomoso reveals that the body of the 50-year-old police officer was discovered alone in his lavish residence. The incident has deeply affected the officers within the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), who are now mourning the loss. Many small groups of officers were observed discussing the incident.
