Renowned Nigerian gospel artist, Paul Nwokocha, has reportedly ended his marriage to his second wife, Mrs. Goodness Nwokocha, just months after they tied the knot in September 2023.
Sources close to the couple claim that tensions in their union began to surface as early as May 2024, with allegations of mistreatment against Goodness. Their marriage, which was arranged with the influence of Paul’s uncles, appears to have quickly fallen apart.
A family insider revealed to journalist Promise Uzoma Okoro that Goodness, a native of Nkpa in Bende Local Government Area, Abia State, had no prior relationship with the singer before their wedding. She reportedly relocated from Lagos to marry him but soon faced challenges in the marriage.

Following their split, the bride price has been returned, signaling a formal dissolution of the union.
Paul Nwokocha’s Accusations
In a video statement, Paul Nwokocha accused his estranged wife of sending explicit photos and videos to other men. Addressing the controversy surrounding his failed marriage, the gospel minister defended his decision to part ways with Goodness, insisting he would not tolerate “abominable” behavior.
He stated:
“If I marry today and find out that my wife is doing abominable things before God and man, I will send her out of my house without any apology.
You that are talking and showing pity on her, how would you feel if the woman you call your wife is taking nude photos and sending them to other men? I married a wife, not a whore. So, I owe nobody an apology for this.”
This marks Paul Nwokocha’s second failed marriage, as he had previously separated from his first wife, Alice Nwokocha, citing alleged abuse.
