Portland Gas Limited has officially launched its Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) mobile refill units in Ojota, Lagos, reinforcing the need to expand access to CNG refueling stations across Nigeria.
Speaking at the event, CEO and Founder of Portland Gas, Folajimi Lai-Mohammed, highlighted the company’s commitment to deploying mobile CNG stations nationwide. The initiative aims to reduce dependence on pipeline gas and improve accessibility to cleaner energy sources.
Lai-Mohammed urged the federal government to provide more accessible funding and support to drive further growth in the sector.
The launch was attended by notable dignitaries, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by the Managing Director of LAMATA, Abimbola Akinajo. Others in attendance included Armstrong Takang, CEO of the Ministry of Finance Incorporated; Michael Oluwagbemi, CEO of PiCNG; Yusuf Othman, National President of NARTO; Oluwemimo Osanipin, Director General of NADDC; and Kayode Opeifa, Managing Director of the Nigeria Railway Corporation.
Portland Gas began its CNG project over four years ago, ahead of the federal government’s official presidential initiative on Compressed Natural Gas.
