The practice of washing raw meat with water, which has been shown by a variety of studies to be potentially dangerous to one’s health, According to Healthline, I will demonstrate to you some of the risks that are involved with washing your meat in water, as well as some alternatives that you can use in its place.

It is common practice in this part of the world to wash meats with water, and this method is completely effective at removing germs from the flesh. However, according to information acquired from Healthline, washing raw foods under water that is simply running can cause bacteria to migrate to other surfaces, that can raise the risk of food contamination. For instance, if you wash the meat in a bowl and then use that same basin to wash the vegetables, you are inadvertently spreading the bacteria from the meat into the vegetables.

According to a number of studies, using an acidic solution to wash your meat is preferable because it eliminates bacteria in a more successful manner. The source went on to advocate using white vinegar, lemon, or lime juice as they’re more effective in eradicating food-borne viruses than other options. It is also recommended to boil your meat completely before consuming it in order to eliminate any other bacteria that may have survived.
