Oyo State governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has signed a new law establishing the Oyo State Rule of Law Enforcement Authority, aimed at strengthening law enforcement in the state. The governor urged residents to cooperate with the state government to achieve their dream of a better Oyo State.

In a statement, Governor Makinde explained that the new law seeks to address the challenges faced by law enforcement agencies in enforcing existing laws on traffic management and environmental sanitation. He emphasized the need for better cooperation between state and federal law enforcement agencies.

He also mentioned plans to set up mobile courts to efficiently enforce the law.

The governor stressed the importance of advocacy and assured the people of Oyo State that his government would continue to expand the state’s economy in order to lift its residents out of poverty. He called on residents to cooperate with the government in order to achieve their shared goals.

Speaking on behalf of the Oyo State House of Assembly, the Deputy Speaker, Muhammed Abiodun Fadeyi, commended the thoroughness with which the lawmakers assessed the Bill. He affirmed that all relevant ministries had been involved in the process.

The signing ceremony was attended by Deputy Governor Bayo Lawal, Secretary to the State Government Prof. Olanike Adeyemo, Head of Service Mrs. Olubunmi Oni, as well as other government officials.
