The Oyo State government has renovated 105 primary schools across the state’s three senatorial districts in partnership with Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) and the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) through the World Bank. The state is among the three states selected two years ago by BESDA to benefit from a $123.8 million support grant by the World Bank Global Partnership for Education (GPE), which focuses on improving basic education.

The State Executive Council has just approved the immediate construction and rehabilitation of schools across the state. The statement disclosed that perimeter fencing, construction of toilet facilities, drilling of solar boreholes, installation of solar lights, and furniture procurement will form the state government’s main intervention, involving 50 contractors for N9,974,332.00.

This initiative will ensure students can access adequate seating and writing surfaces and reduce overcrowding, improving the learning experience.
