Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) has extended heartfelt felicitations to Muslims across Oyo South and beyond on the occasion of the new Islamic Calendar, Hijrah 1446 AH.

This is contained in a statement signed by his Special Adviser, Akeem Abas and made available to newsmen on Sunday in Ibadan.

Hijrah, the new Islamic Calendar commemorates the migration of Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Medina.

Senator Alli expressed joy in joining the Muslim community to mark this significant event which symbolises the beginning of the Islamic New Year.

The lawmaker urged Muslims to see the occasion as a time for reflection, renewal, and spiritual growth.

He urged Muslims to use this occasion to strengthen their faith, engage in acts of kindness as well as promote peace and unity within their communities.

“The principles of Hijrah, which include perseverance, sacrifice, and commitment to righteousness, remain relevant in today’s world and should guide the actions of every Muslim,” he said.

Senator Alli called on Muslims to pray for the continued peace, stability, and prosperity of Nigeria.

He stressed the need for unity and understanding among the diverse religious as well as ethnic groups in the country, saying such harmony was crucial for national development.

The lawmaker reassured constituents of his commitment to fostering an inclusive society where everyone can thrive regardless of their religious beliefs.

Senator Alli lauded the resilience and contributions of the Muslim community in Oyo South and across Nigeria.
