Senator Alli shines at Journalists award ceremony, vows to prioritise grassroots development

The unwavering commitment and steadfast dedication of Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) to grassroots development within a few months in office have garnered praise from journalists in the state.

This is contained in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas and made available to newsmen on Saturday in Ibadan.

Alli was on Thursday, honoured with the prestigious ‘Outstanding People’s Personality Award’ by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Chapel at its 2023 Press Week celebration.

He was awarded for his significant contributions to grassroots development which exemplifies commitment to serving the people and improving their quality of life.

The statement said that Alli’s remarkable achievements were showcased to the dignitaries and guests in attendance at the elaborate ceremony held in Ibadan.

Meanwhile some journalists have described Alli as the most active lawmaker in the state, emphasising his ability to empower constituents in record time since assuming office.

Mr. Dominic Mokikan, the Zonal Director of Radio Nigeria, Ibadan Zonal Station, who presented the award, urged the Senator to continue his efforts in transforming the grassroots.

Alli, who was represented by Mr Seye Ojo, the NUJ Vice-Chairman, appreciated the chapel for finding him worthy to be honoured.

The lawmaker expressed firm believe that true progress could only be achieved by focusing on the needs of the people at the grassroots level.

Alli acknowledged the importance of addressing and resolving the challenges faced by the constituents and communities he serves.

He pledged to ensure continuous delivery of democratic dividends to the masses, quality representation and service to humanity.

Alli, who reeled out some of his achievements since assumption of office, was applauded for all he has achieved within few months in office.

The lawmaker assured constituents of his determination to fulfill all his electioneering promises, urging them to be hopeful of a greater Nigeria.

In his address, Mr. Oluwakayode Banjo, the FRCN Chapel Chairman, lauded Alli’s humility, dedication and selfless service to humanity.

Among other awardees were Prince Niran Adeyoju, the Chairman SDM Group;
Mr. Kolapo Kola-Daisi, a finance expert and Ambassador Romoke Ayinde, the CEO of Kayrom Lee Gym.
