In the wake of the passing of Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari, a poignant message shared anonymously on social media has stirred deep emotions across the nation.

The heartfelt post, written by an unidentified individual, reflects on the solemn silence that followed the burial of the late statesman, offering a stark reminder of life’s fleeting nature and the inevitability of death.

“A short while ago, this place was filled with a great crowd all gathered to lay former President Muhammadu Buhari (fPMB) to rest,” the post began. “Today, it stands quiet… Everyone has gone. Only he remains beneath the earth.”

The writer described the simplicity and solitude of the grave — “No air conditioner, no doors, no light, no windows, no family by his side” — underscoring the contrast between the pomp of life and the stark humility of death.

“Such is the reality of every soul,” the message concluded, before offering a solemn prayer: “What remains now are the good deeds and the Mercy of Allah. Ya Allah, grant him peace, forgive his shortcomings, and make his grave a garden from the gardens of Jannah. Ameen.”

The reflective tribute has since been shared widely, resonating with many Nigerians who continue to mourn the death of the former president and military ruler. Buhari passed away in London, with his death marking the end of a significant era in Nigeria’s political history.
