Eunice Wuraola Ogini, the first daughter of the late Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola, has issued a stern warning to pastors and gospel ministers against spreading false or unverified claims about her father’s life and ministry.
Her reaction followed recent remarks by Biodun Fatoyinbo, Lead Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), who alleged that despite Apostle Babalola’s great anointing, he lived without money and questioned the whereabouts of his children.
In a video statement, Mrs. Ogini firmly dismissed the claim, insisting that her father was never impoverished. According to her, Apostle Babalola lived comfortably and gave his entire life to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ without compromise.
She recalled that during his revival meetings, people openly surrendered idols, shrines, ritual objects, and occult materials, which were set ablaze as a public declaration of repentance and faith in Christ. She described this as one of the hallmarks of his ministry and a testimony of his profound impact across communities in Nigeria.
“I am Eunice Wuraola Ogini, the first daughter of Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola,” she said. “My father preached the gospel of Christ without compromise. Whenever his name is mentioned, ministers of God must speak the truth with sincerity. They should honour the Lord from the pulpit by verifying every claim before making it public.”
Quoting Apostle Paul’s admonition in Colossians 4:6, she reminded pastors that their speech must always be gracious and seasoned with salt, especially when speaking about revered servants of God who have passed on.
Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola, founder of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), remains one of Nigeria’s most celebrated revivalists, known for miracles, large crusades, and uncompromising teachings. His daughter’s statement now serves as both a defense of his legacy and a call for truth and integrity in the church.
