A student senator at the Tai Solarin University Of Education was brutally killed on campus on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. According to reports, the victim simply identified as Fabiyi, was a member of the university’s Student Union Government (SUG).

Fabiyi was reportedly dragged out of his examination hall by his attackers in the presence of his fellow students. He was then assaulted, stabbed, and later taken to a nearby bush where he was shot to death.

The security personnel on campus arrived at the scene only after the attackers had already fled. Fabiyi was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

It is understood that Fabiyi was celebrating his birthday and preparing to graduate from the institution on the day of the incident. However, his joyous occasion was tragically cut short by the violent attack.

As of now, the university authorities and the local police have not issued any official statement regarding this unfortunate incident. The investigation is ongoing, and the school community is left in shock and mourning the loss of their fellow student leader.
