A heartbreaking incident unfolded in the Papa Ajao area of Lagos State on Sunday as a mosque collapsed, claiming the life of an 11-year-old girl. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, where the lifeless body of the young girl was discovered amidst the rubble.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the tragic event while providing updates on the ongoing rescue efforts at the site of the collapsed mosque. Hundeyin expressed sorrow over the loss of the young girl and revealed that the rescue operation was still underway.

Reports indicate that the collapse occurred during afternoon prayers, catching worshippers off guard. While some managed to escape, others found themselves trapped beneath the debris. Concerned individuals at the scene quickly alerted authorities and emergency services for assistance.
