A man was found dead on a railway track in Lagos after being hit by a train on Monday, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has reported.
According to LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the agency received a distress call regarding the train accident along the railway line opposite Cappa in Lagos, around 6 pm.
“Upon arrival at the scene, we found an adult male walking along the railway track who had been hit by an incoming train and died immediately due to the impact of the collision,” Dr. Oke-Osanyintolu said in a statement.
The victim, whose identity is yet to be determined, was found to be half-dressed at the time of the incident. LASEMA’s response team has since bagged the remains of the deceased and handed them over to the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU) for further processing and transfer to the morgue.
