The Trump administration has officially begun deporting undocumented immigrants using military planes, fulfilling a campaign promise to crack down on illegal immigration.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt shared photos on the social media platform X showing detainees in handcuffs boarding a military aircraft. “Deportation flights have begun,” Leavitt announced. “President Trump is sending a strong and clear message to the world: if you enter the United States illegally, there will be serious consequences.”
The flights are part of an executive order signed by President Trump earlier this week, authorizing the use of military resources to expedite deportations.
Speaking with journalist Chris Cuomo on Friday, U.S. border czar Tom Homan revealed that 1,300 people have already been detained as part of the operation, the majority of whom have criminal records. “Over a thousand of those arrested are criminals,” Homan stated. “The remaining individuals are fugitives who have gone through immigration courts or collateral arrests made during operations.”
President Trump campaigned on a promise to enforce the largest deportation effort in U.S. history, and this initiative marks a significant step in implementing that agenda.
