Renowned veteran actor Jide Alabi, once a household name for his roles in popular TV series and films such as Palace, Papa Ajasco, Super Story, Asiri Eko, Ida Oluwa, and Schemes, made a notable return to the screen after a long hiatus.
In 2010, Alabi stepped away from acting to pursue a career in broadcasting. He became the Manager of Radio Programmes at Rhythm 93.7 FM and also served as a sports presenter on both Rhythm 93.7 FM and Silverbird Television.
His comeback to Nollywood was marked by his role in the film Sade Pepper, released on August 8, 2016. The movie features an impressive cast including Funsho Adeolu, Lanre Hassan, Monsuru Obadina, Olu Olowogemo, Tunde Sobayo, Bimbo Oshin, and Jide Alabi himself.
During his time in broadcasting, Alabi’s talent did not go unnoticed. He was honored with the Sports Presenter of the Year award at the Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards held on Saturday, November 15, at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos.
