“Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, addressed concerns about electricity consumption in Nigeria during a press conference, emphasizing the urgency for better management. Comparing the situation to other countries, Adelabu highlighted a lack of replication in Nigeria’s electricity management practices.

Adelabu expressed concern over the absence of consumption management within the country. He pointed out that, unlike in other nations, Nigerians seem to overlook the efficient use of electricity.

He shed light on the fact that people abroad are well aware of how to manage their power supply, but unfortunately, this knowledge is not widely applied in Nigeria.

Furthermore, Adelabu drew attention to an alarming trend where individuals leave their air conditioners and freezers running for long periods, even when not required, due to the exceptionally low cost of electricity. This reckless behavior contributes to excessive consumption and places unnecessary strain on the already overburdened power supply system.”
