Just before the supreme court judgement on Wednesday temporarily halting the suspension of the federal government on the naira redesign policy, the governor of Kaduna State, El-Rufai, could be seen speaking to people not to return their old notes, instead wait for Tinubu’s announcement if elected president.

In the video which has now been translated to English from Hausa, El-Rufai said, “any citizen of Kaduna that has old naira notes, from now to the next 4 years, if APC is elected, Buba will return his/her money and go tell everyone to stop retuning the old notes to banks.

“El-Rufai, Buba Sani and Tinubu have made you a promise that if we are elected, the deadline will be changed, giving everybody enough time to change their money as its remaining 18 days to election, once election is over, they should wait for the big announcement from Tinubu”, El Rufai told people in Kaduna.
