Renowned broadcaster and Chairman of Agidigbo FM, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, has openly expressed his frustration at critics discouraging him from pursuing his gubernatorial ambition ahead of the 2027 elections in Oyo State.
In a fiery response during a live broadcast, Oriyomi reacted to a caller who urged him not to waste his time contesting for governor, warning that the electorate could be deceptive and may only collect his money without voting for him.
The caller’s warning followed growing speculation surrounding Oriyomi’s political intentions, with posters bearing his image and campaign slogans now visible across Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Visibly angered by the suggestion, Oriyomi declared emphatically, “Because of what you said, I will contest – and I will win! I am popular, and the people know me.” He added that he would not be discouraged by cynics and would remain committed to his vision for a better Oyo State.
Oriyomi Hamzat, widely known for his activism, investigative journalism, and grassroots support through his Agidigbo FM platform, has yet to make a formal declaration. However, the incident has further intensified conversations around his potential candidacy and political future.
