Social media was set ablaze over the weekend after a video surfaced showing popular TikTok content creators, Peller and Jarvis, in a heated moment at singer Seyi Vibez’s concert.
The duo, who rose to prominence through TikTok livestreams and AI-inspired content before evolving into full-fledged influencers, have not only built a growing fan base but are also publicly known to be in a relationship. Their online journey has often drawn admiration, but the latest controversy has sparked a sharp divide among fans.
According to eyewitness accounts, both Peller and Jarvis attended Seyi Vibez’s show separately, with Peller reportedly hoping to stream content from the event. In one clip, he greeted the singer, who acknowledged him with a smile. Jarvis, a self-professed fan of Seyi Vibez, was also at the venue to see her favourite artiste.
The drama, however, unfolded after the concert when Peller and Jarvis reportedly disagreed over transportation arrangements. In a now-viral clip, Peller could be seen insisting Jarvis enter a car for her safety after claims that some individuals were trying to attack them. Jarvis, however, resisted, questioning why she should do so.
The argument escalated, with Peller visibly upset. He was captured pushing Jarvis in frustration, a gesture that immediately drew backlash online. In another clip, he was seen attempting to calm her down while telling her to let him handle the situation—only to push her again. Jarvis, angered, walked away at one point, but the pair were later seen reconciling and resuming their usual display of affection.
When the videos surfaced online, reactions were swift and polarised. While some defended Peller, arguing that Jarvis should have listened to him in a tense situation, others criticised him for resorting to physical aggression.
Prominent activist Adetoun weighed in, warning Peller never to lay hands on Jarvis again, threatening intervention if the behaviour continued. She also cautioned both influencers about the type of content they share, reminding them that many young people look up to them. Similarly, controversial entrepreneur and kayamata seller Jaruma also shared her thoughts, amplifying the debate.
In response, Peller addressed the issue publicly, pleading for understanding. He reminded critics that he is “just a 20-year-old boy trying to be better,” stressing that people were unfairly judging him based on a 30-second clip from a six-hour livestream.
Jarvis also went live to defend herself, urging critics to “advise their family members and leave her alone.” She dismissed the narrative of being a victim, saying she is not a child and that the viral clips were not a true reflection of the situation.
Despite the controversy, both Peller and Jarvis eventually told their followers and critics alike to “mind their business,” insisting that their relationship remains intact.
The incident, however, continues to trend across TikTok, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter), raising wider conversations about online influence, accountability, and the blurred lines between content creation and personal relationships.
