The ongoing Ogbomoso Cradles Carnival took an exciting turn on Saturday as Nollywood stars Saheed Balogun, Lalude Ojoge, Otolo, Kukute, and others captivated the audience with their stellar performances. The star-studded stage play, titled Isokan (Unity), was one of the highlights of the carnival’s third day, drawing both indigenes and tourists.

The play, performed in collaboration with members of the Theater and Movie Producers Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Ogbomoso Zone, reflected on Ogbomoso’s current realities while promoting the values of teamwork and unity.

Adding to the day’s excitement, visually impaired athletes thrilled the audience with a 30-minute football match, showcasing their remarkable skills and inspiring the crowd. The match left spectators in awe and made the day an unforgettable experience.

The Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III, attended the event alongside traditional and honorary chiefs. Commending TAMPAN for the well-scripted play, he called for even greater efforts in the next edition.

“This performance is commendable, but I expect next year’s edition to be even better. You have one year to plan—create something colorful with beautiful costumes and ensure it’s a remarkable experience,” the monarch said.

Today’s activities include a thanksgiving service to mark Oba Ghandi’s first coronation anniversary and a beauty pageant in the evening. The carnival will culminate on Monday with a grand finale at the Soun Township Stadium.

Dignitaries expected at the grand finale include the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde; Minister of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa; Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams; and other top government officials.
