Popular Nigerian actor Uti Nwachukwu has sparked a conversation about the gender of God, questioning why many people assume God is male.
In a video shared on Instagram, Uti raised a thought-provoking point about the common belief that God is referred to as “He.” He asked, “If we were made in His image, where did the image of the woman come from?”
In the caption accompanying his post, the actor referenced the Bible verse Genesis 1:26, which states, “Let ‘US’ make man in Our image, according to Our likeness.” He then posed a question:
“If we are made in the image of God, does that mean there’s a feminine aspect within God? If you believe in the Holy Trinity, is it unreasonable to consider that the divine might have both masculine and feminine qualities? Or is God beyond gender entirely?”
Encouraging open discussion, Uti urged people to engage in intellectual conversations about the topic while cautioning those unwilling to consider different perspectives to scroll past his post.
His thought-provoking remarks have sparked discussions online, with many sharing their views on the topic.
