Weeks after Mohammed Auwal was suspended for 1 year by the IMC for urinating on the pitch. He finally opened up and disclosed the reason behind his action.
According to information gathered by oyosportsnews, Auwal Mohammed had accosted Akwa United coach and players on their way to the main pitch ‘saying they would not be allowed to plant any voodoo on it.’
Coach Ayeni invited him to join their prayer circle on the center of the pitch. Eventually, Akwa had their prayers and subsequently sprayed the pitch with ‘holy water’. But, in an apparent anger, Auwal raced forward to confront Ayeni for his affront at pouring ‘juju water’ on the pitch, and threatened to neutralize it with his urine.
In his reaction, Ayeni insisted that it was just a bottle of ‘holy water’ to seal their point of prayer at picking a positive result in Ibadan. He added that God has shown him that Akwa United would leave Ibadan with a favorable result and whoever stand in the way of the Lord shall be put to shame
Auwal urinated on the pitch and the game ended 2-2
Auwal was suspended for 1 year by the IMC and Shooting Stars was fine the sum of 500,000 thousand.
