Florencia Amado Cattaneo is accused of cutting off her husband’s penis and stabbing him to death. Pedro Federico Zarate, her late trumpet-playing husband, was discovered dead at the couple’s apartment in the Altos de San Lorenzo region of Argentina.
Mail Online reports that the 41-year-old suspect has been apprehended by police and transferred for psychiatric evaluation in connection with the horrifying alleged murder. In addition to cutting off her husband’s penis, she also buried a knife in his eyeball. The victim was discovered with a knife buried in his eye and his genitalia severed.
The suspect, a psychologist, was detained on January 11 after escaping to her mother’s home in a cab ‘with bloodstains on her hands,’ according to Patricia, the suspect’s sister. His sister-in-law discovered her husband’s body on the bed at the apartment he lived with his wife and five-year-old boy.
According to local media accounts, he had stab wounds all over his body, including his chest, and his genitalia were mangled.
Amado Cattaneo has been admitted to the psychiatric ward of a La Plata medical center, where she will undergo evaluations.
