As a security man tried to stop the man from moving close, Wike extended his hand to his old mate, and the security guard took the hint that he should allow the man.
The man fell on his knees to greet Wike.
Wike then beckoned an aide and whispered into his ear, after which he was given a bundle of cash which Wike then handed over to his old mate before continuing with his speech.
Some netizens commended Wike for recognizing his old mate despite the remarkable difference in fortune statuses between them.
Some others however argued that he should have given him something better, such as a job which would ultimately help his status.
