Chief Munir Balogun, father of Afrobeats sensation Ayodeji Balogun, better known as Wizkid, has spoken out regarding the ongoing feud between his son and fellow artist Davido. In an exclusive interview with Punch Newspapers, Chief Balogun urged Wizkid to focus on his music and disregard the provocations from Davido’s fan base.

“I advised my son to ignore whatever the supporters of Davido are saying,” Chief Balogun stated. “They are only seeking attention and controversy for their own benefit.” He emphasized that the rivalry is fueled by fans looking to stir up drama for financial gain, and encouraged Wizkid to stay focused on his career rather than engage with the distractions.

“They are after what they can gain from the situation,” he added. “I told him not to pay much attention to them.”

The elder Balogun acknowledged that he has witnessed the ongoing tensions between the two artists online. The rivalry has sparked numerous discussions among fans, with both Wizkid and Davido being heralded as leading figures in the Nigerian music industry.
