In a recent statement, the IBILE G-7, a prominent Yoruba group, has issued a stern warning to heartless criminals plotting to invade Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo state. The group vehemently condemned the act of banditry, labeling it an act of terrorism that will not be tolerated.
The statement signed by Lanre Ogundipe and Olajide Laniyonu on behalf of the IBILE G-7, serves as a clear warning to criminals and a call for unity and vigilance within the community.
The IBILE G-7 suspects that these criminals were incited by individuals with ulterior motives, attempting to provoke a section of the Yoruba race and plunge them into an intractable crisis against the government. They further revealed that these misguided individuals had attempted to hoist the Yoruba nation flag on the Parliament building, with aspirations of installing an interim government.
It has been reported that the individuals involved were dressed in military camouflage, causing the IBILE G-7 to question their training and equipment. They emphasize that Ibadan, as a city, has always been associated with bravery and protection of its people, and will not succumb to any war threats.
The group has called on the government to leave no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrators of this act to justice, regardless of their level of influence. They stress that such acts undermine the overall security of the state and must not be tolerated.
Additionally, the IBILE G-7 urges the inhabitants of Ibadan and all Nigerian citizens to remain law-abiding and vigilant, reporting any suspicious activities to the appropriate law enforcement agencies.
