Zimbabwe has introduced an innovative HIV prevention injection that provides two months of protection against infection.

The drug, known as Injectable cabotegravir (CAB_LA), is now available for pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), offering a convenient and effective method of preventing HIV transmission for individuals at high risk.

Unlike the conventional daily pill regimen for PrEP, this injection only needs to be administered once every two months, making it a more manageable option for those seeking protection against the virus.
