Following the attack on the former governor of Oyo state, who is also the Otun Olubadan, Senator Rasheed Ladoja by the Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, the Ibadan Mogajis (Compound heads) have descended on him, saying he lack parental care.
According to report by Daily Independence, the Mogajis of Ibadanland stated this in a communique jointly signed by Mogaji Mukthar Adewale Gbadeyanka, Mogaji Adeipo, Mogaji Patrick Kayode Ogunsola and Mogaji Anisere described the outburst of Arapaja on an Ibadan based radio station as uncalled for.
The Compound heads noted with dismay the disparaging comment of Arapaja on the highly referred Otun Olubadan, describing it as an insult to the entire Olubadan in Council.
Ambassador Arapaja, according to them should desist from using the names of Ibadanland Chieftancy holders to gain political prominence.
Olubadan-in-Council is non partisan. It is father to all aspirants from Ibadanland. It is wrong on the part of any politician to drag any of its members in the mud of the nation”s murky politics.
According to the statement on Wednesday, “The compound heads who are in their hundreds called an emergency meeting at Oja Oba Palace of Olubadan issuing communique at the end of the meeting and signed by about hundred’s of Mogaji’s stated that Taofeek does not have what it takes to insult Ibadan Mogajis talk more of the OTUN OLUBADAN OF IBADANLAND.
“History had it that TAOFEEK lack parental care because he lost his dad who was a Driver at a very tender age.
“He was trained with Oyo state money in the United Kingdom and has not done anything to reciprocate the good gesture Chief Bola Ige gave him.The deputy National Chairman South of PDP that lost his polling booth ,ward and local government woefully.
“If he want to step up his politics and believe he can drag the name of Otun Olubadan in the mod, simply because he wants to use Otun Olubadan name to achieve his heart desires from Gov Seyi Makinde.
“He should be prepared to go into war with the Ibadan Mogajis,Ibadan Chiefs and the the entire Ibadan Indigenes. A word is enough for the Wise”.
