A shocking tragedy unfolded in Nairobi over the weekend, when a Catholic priest, identified as 43-year-old Joseph Kariuki Wanjiku, was found dead in a hotel room after spending the night with a woman believed to be his girlfriend.

The incident took place at the Monalisa Hotel Dellview in Gatanga on Friday night, where the priest checked in with his companion. Reports indicate that on Saturday morning at around 8:00 AM, the woman alerted hotel staff after noticing that Wanjiku had become dizzy and was losing consciousness.

In response, hotel management promptly transported the priest to Kenol Hospital, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
