Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer Mohbad, has denied reports that he is embroiled in a struggle over his son’s properties with Mohbad’s wife, Omowunmi.

In a recent interview with Arise TV, monitored by 9jaspectators, Aloba stated that the claims of him fighting for his son’s properties are untrue and fabricated. “I have not entangled myself with any of his properties, I have not made such moves,” he said.

Aloba also clarified that he does not have any issues with Mohbad’s wife, Omowunmi. “I am only interested in knowing the paternity of his son because I want to know the truth,” he added.

The late singer’s father also vowed to go to court to unravel the circumstances that led to his son’s death. Aloba said he is not convinced by the recently released autopsy report and suspects foul play.

“I was not pleased with the result because there was a lot of delay. We were also informed that the test would be done in the US but it was done in Lagos,” Aloba said. He added that the laboratory in the United States confirmed that Mohbad’s name was not sent to them for any test.

Aloba revealed that the autopsy report showed traces of Diphenhydramine, an antihistamine, in Mohbad’s blood system. However, he believes the circumstances surrounding his son’s death are still unknown to him and demands a private autopsy to ascertain the real cause of death.

“I also want to go to court because I still think the circumstances surrounding his death are still unknown to me despite the autopsy report, I believe it is not a natural death and I demand a private autopsy,” Aloba said.

Mohbad, a popular singer, died suddenly on September 12, 2023, and was buried the next day. His body was later exhumed by the police for an autopsy on September 21.
