A devastating fire swept through a commercial building in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, on Tuesday. The Oyo State Fire Service reported that the blaze engulfed two churches and a furniture shop located at No. 51, Debo Plaza, opposite Lam Adesina Junction, Felele.

Yemi Akinyinka, the General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Service, provided details on the incident. He stated that the affected churches were a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and the New Covenant Church.

“Fire fighters swiftly swung into action and prevented the fire from spreading to the nearby buildings,” Akinyinka said. However, the fire had already caused significant damage, primarily affecting plastic chairs and PVC materials used for ceiling decorations, which were completely destroyed.
