Ibadan to Host Edge Higher Education Conference on AI and Virtual Reality Learning Platforms

Ibadan is preparing to welcome the highly anticipated Edge Higher Education Conference, a prominent event set to take place from November 29 to 30 at the American Open University of Nigeria’s campus in Bodija. This conference will convene distinguished speakers from Nigeria and the United States to explore groundbreaking advancements in educational technology.

Among the notable speakers is Hon. Stanley Olajide, Federal Representative and Chairman of the House Committee on ICT, who will join a lineup of academic leaders to discuss the future of higher education in Nigeria.

Themed “Emerging Technologies and the Future of Higher Education in Nigeria,” this free lecture series is part of the American Open University of Nigeria’s commitment to enhancing educational experiences.

Other featured speakers include Dr. David Akanbi, Professor of E-Learning Practice at UDC, USA; Dr. Lenora Mosby, Consultant at Apple Inc., USA; Prof. Francis Eghokare, President of the Open and Distance Association of Nigeria; Ms. Adrienne Crosby, Director of Instructional Technology at ATECH Online; and Dr. Olusola Ayoola, Founder of RAIN Robotics in Nigeria.

Dr. David Akanbi, the Director of the University, stated that the conference will focus on the development of AI-powered and virtual reality learning platforms, innovative 3D printing applications, and essential skills for navigating the 4th Industrial Revolution.
