A leading and award-winning private Secondary School in Oyo State, International College of Arts, Science and Technology (ICAST), Elebu-Ibadan has again written to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) over its failure to release the certificate of Joseph-Oduntan, Oluwatomisin Daniel who sat for WAEC in year 2021 with Examination Number 4311449033.

Joseph-Oduntan, Oluwatomisin Daniel was one of the 52 students that sat for the year 2021 May/June examination.

The college, in a fresh letter to WAEC directed to its DR (SED), in Yaba, Lagos State, through its Zonal
coordinator in Ijokodo, Ibadan, expressed the school management’s worry and the concern of the parents of the candidate over the non-release of his certificate two years after.

According to the letter titled “Request for Issuance of Omitted WAEC Certificate, and signed by the School’s Principal, B.J. Adewumi read inter alia: “I am writing to request for the issuance of 2021 WAEC May/June Certificate of JOSEPH-ODUNTAN OLUWATOMISIN DANIEL with examination number 4311440933 which was omitted.

“Sir, the total number of registered candidates for that examination year, from our school was fifty-three (53) while a candidate IYIOLA AISHAT AYOMIDE with Examination number: 4311449031 was not available for the exam throughout but at the time we came for certificate, we realized only fifty-one (51) candidates were issued instead of fifty-two (52) which was thoroughly counted, confirmed and signed for before departing your office.

“Sir, this letter also serves as a reminder to the previous letter we have written on the same subject, therefore, we urge the council to take prompt and proactive action about this because the parents of the affected candidate have been on the school’s neck, insinuating and wrongfully accusing the school of withholding their child’s certificate.

“We look forward to receiving a favourable feedback from you, in earliest convenience,” the Principal added.
