A middle-aged man identified as Eric and his girlfriend have been found dead in their room in the Ayeyemi area of Ondo city, Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The tragic incident occurred over the weekend, with sources claiming that the couple was found in a compromising sexual position. The cause of their deaths is yet to be officially ascertained by the authorities.
According to reports, some neighbors and residents of the area suggested that the couple may have been electrocuted, as they had allegedly put on a generator and charged a phone in a socket placed on the bed. It is believed that the woman’s chain may have made contact with the socket, leading to the fatal incident.
The spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the incident to Channels TV, stating that the deceased had been dating each other for about two years, and both families were aware of their relationship.
The bodies have been evacuated and deposited at the morgue of a nearby hospital, as the police continue their investigation into the tragic circumstances surrounding their deaths.
Meanwhile, a resident of the community, Blessing John, has posted photos from the scene, claiming it to be a case of “Magun,” a traditional African practice believed to cause death during sexual intercourse. However, the authorities have not yet confirmed the connection between the two incidents.
This heartbreaking incident has left the local community in a state of shock and grief, as they seek answers and closure regarding the untimely demise of the couple.
