The remains of Pa Samson Olayiwola Lakondoro, a former Chairman of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) were committed to mother earth on Thursday evening,
The brief but well attended burial ceremony was held at his residence, Ajadi Area, Ologuneru, Ibadan,
The event had in attendance dignitaries from all walks of life including the management of 3SC, led by the Executive Chairman, Honourable Babatunde Olaniyan Akoro, accompanied by the Director of Administration and Supply, Alhaji Rahman Olapade.
Members of the Shooting Stars Supporters Club, led by Mr Femi Oyeniyi, the Chairman, Oyo State General Supporters Club, notable politicians and political associates of late Pa Lakondoro among others, also witnessed the burial ceremony.
Meanwhile, the Management of the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC, has mourned the demise of the former Chairman of the club, Pa Samuel Olayiwola Lakondoro.
Baba Lankodoro, was the chairman of the Oluyole Warriors in 2014.
Reacting to his death, Executive Chairman of 3SC, Honourable Babatunde Olaniyan Akoro, described it as a huge loss, not only to the club but the football fraternity.
“We’ve lost a passionate lover of Shooting Stars and the round leather game as a whole. He was such a die hard fan of the club, even at his old age
“As the chairman of 3SC, he contributed immensely to the success of the club and even after leaving office, he dedicated his time to supporting the club”, said Honourable Olaniyan.
“We take solace in the fact that Baba lived a fulfilled life and enjoyed the labour of his hands till he died at a ripe age. We pray God grants him eternal rest,” the 3SC chairman concluded.
Baba Lakondoro was a staunch supporter of the Oluyole Warriors before he was appointed as the club’s chairman in 2014 by the late Senator Abiola Ajimobi, who was then the governor of Oyo State.
